FAQ
1. How do classes meet?
Classes meet via Zoom (you must download Zoom to participate in classes). Since the more you put into language acquisition, the more you will get out of it, it’s best to have your video and audio on whenever possible in class.
2. I’m not sure of my level. How do I find that out?
Read over our Course Description pages for a full explanation of each level. If you are still unsure, contact me directly (bilingual.caroline@gmail.com) and I’m happy to help you!
3. How many students are in each class?
Each class has a maximum capacity of 20 students. This ensures a fun class atmosphere while retaining a small group feel where each student receives individual attention.
4. What is the age requirement for the classes?
These classes are designed for those who are age 18+.
5. How much are classes?
The standard rate for classes is $12/ instructional hour. So, if a class is an hour long, meets once a week for 5 weeks, then it’s 5 instructional hours and would cost $60 ($12x5).
In order to honor their contributions to our community and increase access to language courses, there is a preferred rate ($2/ instructional hour) for those students who work as educators, health care workers, and community servants. Additionally, if you would like to help support access to classes for more educators, health care workers and other essential workers, you can donate directly to the Kinda Bilingual scholarship fund. All the funds donated directly to scholarships for those students who need them. Are you interested in a scholarship? Fill out this form to be contacted!
6. I’ve taken a course with you before, but am unsure if I should move up to the next level. What should I do?
All courses are designed to be taken multiple times. Unlike traditional language courses, you don’t move to the next level until you are fully comfortable and confident in doing so. The content will vary each session so you don’t have to worry about repeating the exact same material.
7. What if I miss a class?
All classes will be recorded and students will have access to these recordings via our Student Portal. Additionally, you are welcome to make up a missed class by attending another class. All registered students will receive details about make up class protocol.
8. I’ve registered for a class. Do I need to buy any materials for class?
Nope! I will provide all of the course materials digitally. Just come with a positive attitude and be ready to have some fun! If you are old school (like me!) and love to take notes on paper, then feel free to bring a notebook to class, but it is 100% not required.
9. I just registered for a class. When will I receive my access?
You will receive a welcome message within 48 hours of registering for class. Please contact me if you don’t! You will receive your Zoom access code the week before your class is to begin.
10. I’ve noticed that this session’s classes have started. Can I still register?
Unpopular answer: It depends. It depends on you, your level of the language and how far into the session the class is. Contact me directly and we can chat!
11. What is your refund policy?
If you need to cancel your registration before you are sent the Zoom access code and access code to the Student Portal (approximately a week before the first class), you will be issued a full refund. The course is non-refundable once you are sent the Zoom access code and access code to the Student Portal. I can, however, provide you with credit for future classes.
