10 Minutes a Day to Up your Spanish game!
Updated: Oct 15, 2021

I know, I know. No one has time for anything these days. Between work and school and family and friends and working out and being a decent human being, it's exhausting. I get it and I'm there with you. BUT, if acquiring Spanish is a goal of yours, making time to practice Spanish does not have be overwhelming. If you commit to 10 minutes a day, you will have practiced for over an hour a week, and eventually almost 5 hours a month, or over 55 hours a year! It adds up quickly! Below are some tips on how to squeeze in some Spanish practice into a very busy life.
Start following some Spanish language accounts on social media. So as you scroll, read the captions and then it's instant reading practice! Check out my blog post on how to make social media your own Spanish language playground.
Spend 10 minutes on the Duolingo app instead of social media.
Change the subtitles and audio to Spanish of a TV show or movie and watch for 10 minutes.
Listen to Spanish language music (Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music already have some amazing playlists) while you drive, clean, workout, work at your desk, etc.
Listen to a Spanish language podcast (my favorite for beginners is the Duolingo Spanish podcast) as you drive to the grocery store.
Read a news article on CNN en español.
Go to the international foods isle in a supermarket or a mercado and read the labels on the food in Spanish.
Find a recipe on Bien Tasty and make it!
Do this brief meditation and centering exercise.
Find something you like to do and stick with it! You'll see your language abilities grow in no time. ¡Sí se puede!
